Joseph Anthony Mensah is a well-known and decorated Police Officer who joined law enforcement as a volunteer Reserve Police Officer at Wauwatosa Police Department in 2009. As of 2023, he is about 29 years old along with 5 feet and 9 inches tall in height.

In his career, he had been accused of three fatal shootings and deaths of three people named Antonio Gonzalez Jr., Jay Anderson, and Alvin Cole. On August 8, 2020, Mensah was with his girlfriend at her house when a group of around 50-60 people approached his girlfriend’s house for protest. The protesters physically assaulted him and tried to shoot him. They fired a shotgun that missed by inches and was discharged at the backdoor. (Update: August 11, 2020)

  7. Dennis  McBride, Wauwatosa Mayor issued a statement and referred to the protestors’ action as Criminal and assured that the guilty would be prosecuted to the fullest extent allowed by law.
  8. Attorney Kimberly Motley is representing the Gonzalez, Anderson and Cole family case.
  9. Jon Cermele has been assigned as Mensah’s attorney.
  10. Former U.S Attorney Steven Biskupic is appointed by the board as an independent investigator of this case.
